In recent years, AI (artificial intelligence) has gained traction across many fields,
but in practice most of these efforts are localized
or experimental (or, in the academic sense, impractical).
We are still nowhere near the kind of "AI" that the wider world genuinely needs.
In a climate where new techniques and results are announced daily,
we believe AI fails to reach that level because the foundational technology is being neglected
while everyone rushes for the result and the conclusion.

As anyone who has spent even a little time in this field will know,
the foundation - the hardest and most important part of AI research and development -
is "preparing the training material."

Just as the Library of Alexandria once concentrated the world's knowledge,
without the technology and the foundation that holds vast information,
building real wisdom - real AI - on top of it is impossible.
Our R&D toward building that foundation begins, as a first beachhead,
with "document digitization and structuring."
